As Nissan moves forward with its "Year of the Truck" initiative, the automaker has enjoyed a number of accolades for its light truck lineup, and they just keep on coming. The latest comes from a collaborative effort between Cars.com and Motorweek. The two publications recently selected the 2016 Nissan Murano as the "Best Midsize SUV of 2016."
Editors evaluated five of the markets leading midsize sport utility vehicles on a set course, while input from a real-world in-market family was also taken into consideration. Murano was lauded for being packed with technology and family-friendly features, as well as for being fun to drive thanks to its V-6 engine. Cars.com Editor-in-Chief, Patrick Olsen, also noted that "The Murano is the closest option to a luxury SUV in this group, with a level of cabin materials and styling flair that's largely missing among the others."
"Murano has become a favorite of awards juries and consumers alike since the introduction of the totally redesigned third-generation Murano for the 2015 model year," said Dan Mohnke, vice president, Nissan Chief Marketing Manager & Marketing Operations. "The Cars.com award is another great honor, adding to the 2015-2016 Murano crossover's streak of winning more awards over the last two years than any other SUV in its class."
Last January, Cars.com recognized the Nissan TITAN XD and ROGE as "Best Pickup Truck of 2016" and "Family Car of the Year" respectively.
